Testing machines for watches

June 10th, 2009 · No Comments

Testing of watch parts has to be done to ensure that the parts function as intended. Battery and Circuit tester, leak detectors and water resistance testers are testing machines that are indispensable to a watch maker.

The Battery and Circuit tester is a two in one tester that lets the watch makers test the battery and circuit connections in the watch by keeping the back on or taking it off. The Elma Leak Controller 2000 Dry water resistance tester is a professional machine that gives precise, reliable results quickly. It has a chamber where the watch is placed and a vacuum is created. There is an easy to read gauge that indicates whether the sealing is perfect or not. As there is no water or wetness involved watches can be popped in with the straps or bracelets. The Elma leak controller replacement dome is a Perspex dome meant for the same model tester. The ELMA VAC-U_PROOF revealing gel is a non toxic substance which can be smeared on to the area where the seal has to be checked. If there is a break in the sealing, then this gel bubbles indicating the exact point of failure.

The Bergeon 5555-98 water resistance tester is a machine that tests the water resistance in watches. It is a robust machine that has a cast base and hence is very stable. It can hold two watches at the same time. The advantage with this machine is that the watches are tested under normal conditions of wear and tear. Bergeon’s hand held waterproof tester is a basic but effective product available at a low cost. Watches can be tested for water resistance with absolutely no water penetration. The Calypso wet tester is a machine made with an easy hand pump operation and is also used to test for water resistance in watches.
