A watch has many parts that need polishing to keep them in good repair and looking good. For this purpose, polishing kits are available with all the necessary tools and accessories needed in the process of polishing. These kits are available for general purpose as well as for specific metals like ferrous and non-ferrous. The general purpose metal polishing kit is suitable to work on all metals like brass, copper, steel and aluminium alloys and it can produce a mirror like finish. Kits for specific metals have specialised items suited for those metals.
A polishing kit typically includes a sisal polishing mop, colour stitch polishing mop, quality polishing mop, Tripmax brown polishing compound, blue polishing compound, grey and pink polishing compounds Vienna lime, dust mask and riggers gloves. The sisal polishing mop is fast cutting and hard; it is used for mopping operations along with polish on steel and non ferrous metals to remove grinding marks.
The colour stitch polishing mop is useful as for first stage polishing on soft metals like brass and copper and can be used in conjunction with Tripmax brown polishing compound. It can also be used for second stage polishing on hard metals with Abramax grey polishing compound. The quality polishing mop is used in the finishing operation and has 100% cotton discs. It is used with Bluemax blue polishing compound and works well on steel, brass, copper, iron and aluminium metals.
The Tripmax brown polishing compound is used for first cut polishing and flattening on non ferrous metals, plastics and veneers. The blue polishing compound is good for final finishing on non ferrous metals; the Abramax grey polishing compound is used for first flattening operation on steel surfaces; Profin pink polishing compound is used for a final high polishing on steel. The Vienna lime is used for removing polishing compound residues.
