Bench mats and Blowers for watchmakers

April 25th, 2009 · No Comments

Bench mats are spreads that are used on the work benches of watchmakers to provide a non-slippery flat surface. Blowers are used to blow away any small particles that are thrown out as debris while working.

The Bergeon watch-makers rubber bench top work mat is a self adhesive rubber sheet. The texture is shock absorbing in nature and stays flat always. The surface has a non scratch coating and it doesn’t slip. The Bergeon plastic mat uses a plastic sheet instead of rubber.

Bergeon Bakelite blower is used for removal of fine dust without formation of tiny moisture droplets. The steel nozzle is fine and is good for precision cleaning. It has a pump action and is loaded with a spring. The bakelite blower is designed in such a way that it does not roll around on the work bench; it stays put in one place and is easy to find. Bergeon Rubber Bellows is a rubber blower for blowing away dust and debris. It has a PVC nozzle and a rubber bulb connected to the nozzle. It is meant for dust removal after watch repair work. The air inlet valve is provided at the bulb’s bottom so that air doesn’t enter through the nozzle.

There are heavy duty Bellows designed for heavy work loads. They are larger in size and can expel more air and consequently dispel more dust. An economy Blue Blower has a small brass nozzle with a non return valve. It has a very small hole and the rubber connected to the nozzle is sealed tightly. The economy Orange Blower has a small plastic nozzle and a non return valve. It has a very simple design, a small orifice and robustly sealed-up rubber at one end of the nozzle. The economy varieties cost only a fraction of the other varieties.
